# Tottenham Hotspur: Cliff Jones urges Daniel Levy to re-sign Gareth Bale

**Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/cliff_jones11/status/1301235325122105347?s=21), Tottenham legend Cliff Jones has urged chairman Daniel Levy and the club to re-sign Real Madrid star and ex-Spurs icon Gareth Bale, claiming that the move would ‘[suit all concerned](https://twitter.com/cliff_jones11/status/1301235325122105347?s=21)‘.**

Bale, who has been on the fringes of the Galacticos’ first team after a [fallout with manager Zinedine Zidane](https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/nov/20/gareth-bale-and-that-wales-golf-madrid-flag-real-are-not-amused) and the board, failed to secure a move away from the Spanish capital last season after a Chinese Super League transfer seemingly [collapsed in the final stages.](https://www.scmp.com/sport/football/article/3020332/gareth-bale-closing-us12-million-week-chinese-super-league-transfer)

\[freshpress-poll id=”316941″\]

Since then, whilst sporting an infamous ‘[Wales, Golf, Madrid](https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/nov/20/gareth-bale-and-that-wales-golf-madrid-flag-real-are-not-amused)‘ flag on international duty, the tension between Bale and Real Madrid has only worsened over time, with the winger recently [opening up to Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12018/12061717/gareth-bale-real-madrid-forward-would-consider-premier-league-return-if-club-let-him-leave) over the situation in an exclusive interview.

Happiest while plying his trade for Wales, having amassed 83 caps so far according to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gareth-bale/nationalmannschaft/spieler/39381), the 31-year-old appears to be yearning for a new club.

Tottenham legend Jones, the [fifth-highest scorer in the club’s history](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2019/november/harry-kane-and-our-all-time-top-goalscorers/), has now urged Levy to re-sign Bale through any means necessary – claiming the business would be a win-win for both parties as Spurs hunt for new attackers.

Currently valued at around [£25.2m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gareth-bale/nationalmannschaft/spieler/39381), it would arguably take a bigger fee where Real Madrid are concerned, but a higher price may just be worth it to bring a [real fan favourite](https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/bring-him-home-gareth-bales-latest-comments-spark-reaction-from-some-spurs-fans/) back to north London.

Looking for more Spurs News around this transfer? Look no further than the **[Tottenham News](https://www.footballfancast.com/tottenham-hotspur-news)** site for the latest News Opinion and reaction across social media.

Ex-boss Harry Redknapp described Bale as ‘[amazing](https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/redknapp-full-of-praise-for-amazing-bale/)‘ during his peak days at White Hart Lane, while David Ginola called the player a ‘[diamond](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/362631/Gareth-Bale-is-a-diamond-not-a-diver-says-Tottenham-legend-David-Ginola)‘.

Of course, it is likely supporters would also love this to happen after [previous links,](https://www.cuatro.com/deportes/futbol/liga/bale-salida-real-madrid-fichar-tottenham_18_2997495164.html) but whether or not the Lilywhites make it a priority is another question entirely.
