# Conte, bring him back – Chelsea loanee bags 2 great goals, including powerful effort

**Chelsea’s army of loanees span much of the Football League and Europe, with young and old players away from west London playing at all different levels.**

There are on-running jokes that rattle around the Transfer Tavern that the Blues – who have 36 out on loan at the moment – have more players plying their trade elsewhere than some Premier League sides have in their actual squads, which really irked Hull supporters earlier this season when former manager Mike Phelan was struggling to scrape enough fit bodies together to name an 18-man matchday squad.

Lewis Baker is one of the bunch who always seems to grab headlines, with the 21-year-old known for having an eye for the spectacular when it comes to goalscoring. The midfielder is currently with Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie and ended his long wait for a goal – he hadn’t netted since January before kick-off – on Wednesday with two great efforts vs. Sparta Rotterdam to send his side to the KNVB Cup Final.

The first was the pick of the pair as Baker lashed the ball into the net from 25-30 yards with his left foot, while his second was a neat ending to a smart team move.

This summer may be pivotal for Baker in terms of his future at Chelsea, so he’ll be hoping he’s done enough to impress Antonio Conte this term.
