# Conte’s Chelsea preparing major deal for 25-goal striker, Arsenal also keen on deal

![Alvaro Morata](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Alvaro-Morata-500x352.jpg)Our resident Chelsea supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are looking closely at the news filtering in from Italian outlet [CalcioMercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/occhio-juve-conte-vuole-morata-inter-avanti-su-soriano-napoli-ma-828359) – with the publication suggesting that Chelsea are plotting a deal for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

The Blues are set for a major overhaul of their squad in the summer, with Antonio Conte set to make his mark on the Blues team – and it seems that the ex-Real Madrid hitman is a player who could be arriving at Stamford Bridge.

However, the west London outfit will face competition from [Arsene Wenger’s Arsena](https://metro.co.uk/2016/04/13/chelsea-ready-to-rival-arsenal-for-alvaro-morata-transfer-5813317/?)l for the signature of the 25-goal striker, and this news has certainly pleased the majority of Gooners here in the Transfer Tavern – with them all agreeing a new striker is a necessity in the summer.

Our landlord here in the Transfer Tavern can envisage seeing Morata at Chelsea, and feels he is a player that would develop and mature at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old has scored a whopping 25 goals for the Serie A giants, and was a pivotal part of the club’s progress in the Champions League.
