# Coventry: Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf linked with Sky Blues move

**Coventry City are keen on bringing Arsenal’s Ben Sheaf to the club this summer, according to [Coventry Telegraph.](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/coventry-city-make-six-figure-18702456)**

Sky Blues manager Mark Robins has been busy in the transfer window preparing for the new season as he looks to build a squad capable of taking on the hustle and bustle of the Championship.

[Gustavo Hamer](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-gustavo-hamer-joins-sky-blues/) signed from PEC Zwolle before [Julien Dacosta](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-julien-dacosta-signs-for-city/) joined from Chamois Niortais on a free transfer and they have since been joined by three more players.

[Callum O’Hare](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-callum-ohare-joins-coventry-city/) was next to be announced as a Coventry player, agreeing a permanent move from Aston Villa, whilst Marcel Hilssner’s signing was then [announced](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-marcel-hilssner-joins-sky-blues/) and that was followed up by a deal to bring in [Ryan Giles.](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-ryan-giles-joins-on-loan-from-wolves-until-the-end-of-the-202021-season/)

They could be followed by another new signing in Sheaf, who has been [strongly linked](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/coventry-city-make-six-figure-18702456) with a switch to the Sky Blues.

The midfielder spent last season on loan with Coventry’s former League One rivals [Doncaster Rovers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-sheaf/profil/spieler/314384) but has since returned to parent club Arsenal.

The 22-year-old has come through the youth ranks at the Emirates Stadium after [joining the north London side from West Ham United](https://metro.co.uk/2014/07/02/arsenal-raid-west-ham-to-sign-england-under-16-midfielder-ben-sheaf-4784662/) during his youth.

[Coventry Telegraph](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/coventry-city-make-six-figure-18702456) now cite a report in The Sun on Sunday which claimed that a six-figure bid has been made by Coventry for the youngster.

Robins is making a real name for himself at Coventry, gaining promotion and then following that up with some shrewd signings.

Agreeing a potential move for Sheaf would seem like another excellent addition, with the Sky Blues potentially gaining a talented young defensive midfielder who [scored two goals and assisted two more in 32 League One games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-sheaf/leistungsdaten/spieler/314384) last term.
