Derbyshire LIVE have reported that Derby County have not shown interest in AS Monaco defender Jonathan Panzo.
Valued at £2.4m by Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old has become a much-wanted player this summer after returning to parent club Monaco from a season-long loan with Belgian club Cercle Brugge.
Newly promoted Championship club Coventry have already made a number of significant improvements to their squad this summer and Panzo has emerged as a potential summer signing.
A whole host of clubs are said to be keen on the defender and a latest report did claim the youngster had agreed terms with Ligue 1 side Dijon, whilst reported interest from Derby has been heard in the media.
Derby boss Phillip Cocu will be looking to improve on his side’s poor finish last term and lack of promotion push, but despite the claims the Dutchman is interested in Panzo, they have now been rubbished.
Derbyshire LIVE cite that an agreed deal with Dijon could have been sealed whilst also claiming that Swansea City, Coventry City and Dutch side Utrecht are all interested.
Panzo could be a superb option for Mark Robins to sure up his defence having had experience of the top divisions in Belgium and France, but other options may become available.
Derby’s interest has seemingly turned out to be false, but regardless of that it seems a move to Dijon is now likely.
