Coventry City have announced their retained list and those players leaving on a free transfer this summer, whilst also confirming they have offered Tom Billson a new deal.
The Sky Blues were greeted with the news from the English Football League that they had gained promotion to the Championship last week after the League One season was ended via a points-per-game system.
Mark Robins’ side will now look to bring in some new faces over the summer as they approach the challenge of playing in England’s second tier and the club have now published their retained list via their official website.
Billson, who joined Coventry in 2017 from Leicester City as a youth player, has gradually been developing through the club’s academy sides.
It seems like a wise decision to keep hold of Billson past the summer for Coventry, having previously had high hopes for the keeper.
Coventry are set to embark on a return to the Championship and the 19-year-old keeper would be a good option to have as third/fourth choice.
Ben Wilson and Marko Marosi are expected to hold down the number one and number two spots, but if Billson can continue his development and thrive in the under-23 side, who knows, his future could be more than promising.
