# Coventry: Ryan Giles arrives on loan from Wolves

**Coventry City have [completed](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-ryan-giles-joins-on-loan-from-wolves-until-the-end-of-the-202021-season/) a loan move for Wolverhampton Wanderers utility man Ryan Giles ahead of the 2020/21 season.**

Following a successful 2019/2020 campaign which saw the Sky Blues gain promotion from League One to the Championship, boss Mark Robins has begun to make several improvements to his squad.

Arrivals began with [Gustavo Hamer](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-gustavo-hamer-joins-sky-blues/) signing from PEC Zwolle, before [Julien Dacosta](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-julien-dacosta-signs-for-city/) joined from Chamois Niortais on a free transfer.

Following the foreign duo coming in to the club was [Callum O’Hare](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-callum-ohare-joins-coventry-city/) who agreed a permanent move to the club after spending last term on loan at the Sky Blues from Aston Villa.

Marcel Hilssner’s signing was then [announced](https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/transfer-marcel-hilssner-joins-sky-blues/) last Thursday, and that has now been followed up by a fifth signing.

Giles, spent last season on loan with Shrewsbury Town up until Christmas where he made [25 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-giles/profil/spieler/504581) before moving to Coventry on a short term loan in January. He has now inked another temporary deal with the club and will now embark on a season in the Championship.

Whilst the transfer is subject to English Football League and Football Association approval, Premier League side Wolves have agreed that the 20-year-old can train with the Sky Blues before the completion date of July 27.

Coventry, who made Giles a fifth summer arrival are also being [linked with a move for Monaco defender Jonathan Panzo.](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/jonathan-panzo-monaco-manager-sacked-18620172?a)

The Coventry squad is now coming together nicely ahead of next season and Giles’ arrival gives Mark Robins plenty of cover given the Telford born footballer can play in a variety of positions – he played in [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-giles/leistungsdaten/spieler/504581) different roles last term.

Preparation is key for a newly promoted side and Robins is certainly doing his best to get everything in place for next term.
