# Crystal Palace: Journalist says loan for Aaron Wan-Bissaka is ‘perfect’

**[Crystal Palace](https://www.footballfancast.com/crystal-palace-fc-news) loaning Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be ‘perfect’, says reputable journalist Pete O’Rourke.**

### The lowdown: Disappointing move

Wan-Bissaka came through the ranks at Selhurst Park and made 49 appearances for the Eagles before being snapped up by United for an eye-watering £45million plus £5million in add-ons ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11749756/manchester-united-sign-aaron-wan-bissaka-on-five-year-deal-from-crystal-palace)).

However, the 24-year-old former England youth international right-back has [struggled to recapture his best form](https://www.football365.com/news/opinion-wan-bissaka-man-utd-diogo-dalot-ralf-rangnick) in Manchester and has been [linked](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12666316/aaron-wan-bissaka-crystal-palace-interested-in-return-of-right-back-while-manchester-united-still-believe-in-frenkie-de-jong-deal) with a move back to Palace this summer.

Now, one well-informed onlooker has shed some light on the current state of play…

### The latest: ‘Good fit’

Talking to the *The Transfer Tavern*, O’Rourke said it would be a ‘good fit’ for Wan-Bissaka to return to southeast London on a temporary basis, describing it as a ‘perfect’ transfer.

He said: “Yeah, it looks like a good fit here for both clubs, especially if Wan-Bissaka is not going to figure in Manchester United’s plans going forward.

“He was on the bench for the opening game against Brighton with Diogo Dalot preferred. I think Manchester United are pretty open to letting Wan-Bissaka go and there’s a possibility of a loan deal that will be perfect for Crystal Palace.”

### The verdict: Make it happen

As things stand, Patrick Vieira currently has Joel Ward – who hailed the [three-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/nationalmannschaft/spieler/477758/verein_id/9565) England Under 21 ace as [‘phenomenal’](https://ronaldo.com/football-news/joel-ward-is-full-of-praise-for-aaron-wan-bissaka/) – and Nathaniel Clyne at his [disposal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/crystal-palace/kader/verein/873) as right-backs, both of whom are entering the twilight of their careers and have previously been prone to [injury layoffs](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-ward/verletzungen/spieler/92572).

Last season, Wan-Bissaka made [25 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/leistungsdaten/spieler/477758/plus/0?saison=2021) across all competitions for United, earning a 6.91 [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-wan-bissaka/863653) rating whilst winning 5.8 duels, successfully completing 1.8 dribbles and making 1.7 interceptions on average per game.

Despite struggling to find his form, the man [valued at £22.5million](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/marktwertverlauf/spieler/477758) still has all the attributes to be a prominent performer in the Premier League and attempting to recapture his previously high levels would be a superb piece of business for all parties.
