# Crystal Palace: Eagles readying January Conor Gallagher move

**[Crystal Palace](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/crystal-palace-news/) are already readying a January move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, according to [Alan Nixon](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19700664/crystal-palace-conor-gallagher-chelsea-transfer-news/).**

### The Lowdown: Gallagher linked with Palace

The Eagles were heavily linked with another move for the 22-year-old following a hugely successful Selhurst Park loan spell last season, winning the club’s [Player of the Year](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/announcement/conor-gallagher-wins-crystal-palace-player-of-the-season-2021-22/2022-05-10/) prize.

Reports last month suggested that Palace had made an [approach](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/crystal-palace-news/crystal-palace-conor-gallagher-approach-transfer-news/) and even a [formal offer](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/crystal-palace-news/crystal-palace-eagles-make-formal-conor-gallagher-offer/) for the midfielder, but as we know, he remained at Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher has gone on to make [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362) Premier League appearances for the Blues in the early weeks of the new campaign, but it looks as if Palace haven’t given up hope of securing his services.

### The Latest: Gallagher to Palace update

Nixon shared a story for [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19700664/crystal-palace-conor-gallagher-chelsea-transfer-news/) regarding Palace and Gallagher on Saturday evening.

He claimed that Steve Parish and the Eagles have the money to make a move and are already readying a £20m bid for the [four-cap England international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/nationalmannschaft/spieler/488362/verein_id/3299) in January.

### The Verdict: One to watch

Described as a [‘monster’](https://twitter.com/TomDutty/status/1503496820881772553) by Palace-supporting journalist Tom Dutton, Gallagher hasn’t had the best of starts under Thomas Tuchel. He was shown a [red card](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chelsea-fc_leicester-city/index/spielbericht/3837848) against Leicester City last weekend and [frustrated](https://twitter.com/CFCRaf2/status/1566070314068582401) the Chelsea manager in Saturday’s 2-1 win over West Ham.

It will be interesting to see if he remains in the team over the coming months, with N’Golo Kante currently sidelined through [injury](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php) and Denis Zakaria signed on deadline day.

If Gallagher falls out of favour at Stamford Bridge, then you’d like to think everyone involved could be open to a permanent exit, making this one to watch from a Palace perspective.
