# Crystal Palace: Eagles make contact for Sasa Lukic

**[Crystal Palace](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/crystal-palace-news/) have made contact with Torino over a potential move for midfielder Sasa Lukic.**

### The Lowdown: Lukic profiled

Lukic has been with Torino since [2016](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/transfers/spieler/245056) and is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/profil/spieler/245056) a central midfielder who can also play in holding or attacking roles.

Valued at a [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/marktwertverlauf/spieler/245056) career-high £13.5m, the Torino captain has made [150](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/245056) appearances for the club, contributing to [18](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sa-scaron-a-luki%C4%87/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/245056) goals.

The Serbia international recently turned 26 and has previously been labelled as a player of the “highest quality” by [World Football Scout](https://twitter.com/_FootballScouts/status/1143895855088508933), and it looks as if Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman are working on a possible Selhurst Park switch for the player.

### The Latest: Palace linked with Lukic

[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/crystal-palace-make-contact-signing-player-wobbling-current-club-eagles-will-competition/) relayed an update from [Tuttosport](https://tuttosport.it/) regarding Lukic on Monday.

They claimed that Palace have made contact with Torino over a move for the Serbian, who is growing frustrated with the Serie A club over what he believes to be broken promises regarding an improved contract. The report adds that Torino value the midfielder at €20m (£16.85m).

### The Verdict: Needed?

The Eagles have already spent big on one midfielder this summer in [£21m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12650018/crystal-palace-transfer-news-cheick-doucoure-joins-from-french-side-lens) man Cheick Doucoure, but there could be room for another in Lukic.

The 26-year-old appears to be a box-to-box central midfielder, with Patrick Vieira having just Will Hughes and James McArthur as out-and-out [central midfield](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/crystal-palace/kader/verein/873) options.

Therefore, bringing in Lukic could be a shrewd move and possibly one to watch closely, with the player seemingly unhappy with his current employers.
