# Crystal Palace: Fans buzz as Gallagher named Player of the Month

**Crystal Palace [confirmed](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1437446805193519106) on Monday that midfielder Conor Gallagher won the club’s Player of the Month award for August.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles fans were delighted at the news on social media.

Gallagher, who arrived on a [season-long loan](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58013275) from Chelsea in the summer, missed the first game of the season at Stamford Bridge but has been a [regular](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362) since.

He was [named](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/first-team/conor-gallagher-earns-first-player-of-the-month-vote-with-huge-total/2021-09-13/) man of the match against Brentford and netted [twice](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362) against West Ham in Palace’s final August fixture, those goals being the first in Patrick Vieira’s tenure as boss.

The 21-year-old collected a whopping [89.2%](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/first-team/conor-gallagher-earns-first-player-of-the-month-vote-with-huge-total/2021-09-13/) of fans’ votes for the August award and has also impressed this month with an [assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362) against Tottenham last weekend.

**“An absolute Rolls Royce of a Midfielder. Didn’t the bloke win 2 back-to-back MOTM Awards as well against Brentford and West Ham?, now he’s scooped a POTM Award. Can’t think of a midfielder, on a permanent basis or loan, who I’ve loved as much as Gallagher!”**
