# Crystal Palace: Fans buzz at Lampard update

**Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has emerged as the leading contender to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace, according to [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/12/frank-lampard-frontrunner-replace-roy-hodgson-crystal-palace/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1620832485).**

It didn’t take long for the latest managerial update to make its way onto social media, where a number of Palace fans gave their thoughts on the possibility of Lampard moving to Selhurst Park.

The [report](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/12/frank-lampard-frontrunner-replace-roy-hodgson-crystal-palace/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1620832485) claims that the Eagles are deliberating over whether or not to make a managerial change, with Lampard now among the club’s top choices to potentially replace the 73-year-old former England boss.

Lampard, who was [sacked at Stamford Bridge back in January](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55794158), is thought to have [moved ahead of the likes of Sean Dyche and Eddie Howe in Palace’s off-field shortlist](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/12/frank-lampard-frontrunner-replace-roy-hodgson-crystal-palace/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1620832485).

It remains unclear as to whether or not a move to Palace would appeal to the 42-year-old, as he [reportedly](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/05/12/frank-lampard-frontrunner-replace-roy-hodgson-crystal-palace/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1620832485) has no interest in becoming England’s Under-21 boss.
