# Crystal Palace: Fans buzz at Lucien Favre news

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been showing the love towards a tweet from [The Athletic’s senior writer Dominic Fifield](https://twitter.com/domfifield/status/1407772039025508353?s=21) after he dropped news on the club’s pursuit of Lucien Favre.**

According to [Fifield](https://twitter.com/domfifield/status/1407772039025508353?s=21), Favre has agreed to take over at Selhurst Park and become Roy Hodgson’s long-term successor.

[Fifield](https://twitter.com/domfifield/status/1407772039025508353?s=21) adds that the former Borussia Dortmund boss will move to London, pending the award of a work permit. The process, [Fifield](https://twitter.com/domfifield/status/1407772039025508353?s=21) described as complicated, is now underway.

Favre is 63 years of age and has been out of work since his [sacking with the Bundesliga giants in December](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55295000). He’s [never managed in England](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucien-favre/profil/trainer/535), but it seems as if that could be about to change, should the relevant documents be approved.
