# Crystal Palace: Fans buzzing over Nathaniel Clyne deal

**Crystal Palace [confirmed](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1423695444794908673) on Friday evening that Nathaniel Clyne has re-joined the club after penning a one-year deal at Selhurst Park.**

As to be expected, a number of Eagles supporters were quick to share their thoughts at the news via social media.

Clyne was one of [11](https://twitter.com/GeorgeSessions/status/1410478334220378114) senior Palace players who became a free agent on July 1 but now joins fellow right-back [Joel Ward](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/announcement/joel-ward-extends-palace-contract/2021-07-15/) in extending his stay in south London.

The 30-year-old has made a total of [151](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-clyne/leistungsdaten/spieler/85177) Palace appearances across his two stints at the club, [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathaniel-clyne/leistungsdaten/spieler/85177/plus/0?saison=2020) of which came last season under Roy Hodgson.

Clyne, who was actually spotted [training](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/crystal-palace-transfer-rumours/crystal-palace-fans-react-to-nathaniel-clyne-footage/) with the club at St George’s Park back in July, will give Patrick Vieira a [third](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/crystal-palace/kader/verein/873) right-back option ahead of the new campaign alongside Ward and Martin Kelly.
