# Crystal Palace: Fans congratulate club foundation as they win award

**A lot of Crystal Palace fans are praising the club’s official charity after it won an award at the London Football Awards last night. The Palace for Life Foundation was set up by the club to help those in need in the South London community and has been around for over 25 years. The London Football Awards (LFA) focuses purely on football clubs in London and happens annually. ([LFA](https://londonfootballawards.org/the-awards/)) It hands out various awards including the ‘Goal of the Season’ and ‘Player of the Season’. The Foundation won the award for ‘Community Project of the Year’ for its Divert project. The Project is a Metropolitan police custody programme which looks to help 18-25-year-olds get away from a life of crime and go into employment. ([Divert](https://twitter.com/DIVERTLondon))

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham came away with two awards on the night, ‘Premier League Player of the Year’ and ‘Young Player of the Year’.
