# Crystal Palace: Fans don’t want club captain Luka Milivojevic back in the starting eleven

**Many Palace fans would not like to currently see club captain Luka Milivojevic return to the starting eleven, as without him, the South London side have won their last three in a row ([BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table)).**

Eagles fans have been replying to an article by [The Athletic journalist Matt Woosnam](https://twitter.com/MattWoosie/status/1237646186917564417) who asked the question whether any of the current midfielders (James McArthur, Cheikhou Kouyate and James McCarthy) should be dropped for the Serbian midfielder.

Since his arrival from Olympiacos for £13.59 million in January 2017, Luka has been key to the side, making 111 Premier League appearances and scoring 26 times ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-milivojevic/profil/spieler/74300)). Most of these have been from the penalty spot, for which he boasts the stat of a 95% conversion rate ([Crystal Palace](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2019/october/watch-luka-milivoejvic-takes-a-penalty...-against-himself/)).

However he has not been at his best this season and also got sent off for misconduct in the FA Cup tie against Derby, something which could have been easily avoided, so maybe a break from the first team is the best thing for Serbian.

Here are what Palace fans had to say on the 28-year-old midfielder:

> Please god no. Luka walked back into the side after his ridiculous suspension and continued to play terribly. Didn’t deserve his place then, doesn’t now.

> Luka does not deserve to be in our starting 11, keep Cahill as captain

> We have to pick the same 11….James McCarthy has been giving us that bite which we have been missing….winding up the opposition which I feel we have been missing and sticking up for@wilf etc

> No. We look a better side without Luka starting, he’s a good option to come off the bench if any of them tire after 65-75mins.

> No …he’s been terrible all season.

> God i hope not ! I love Luka but why change a winning team ? Three wins in a row and the midfield looks sold. No reason to change would like to see Jeff or Andros come on as a sub in the second half.
