# Crystal Palace: Fans react as Eberechi Eze shines against Leeds United

**Many Crystal Palace fans were raving over the news that Roy Hodgson had [decided to start](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1325075539590320128?s=20) Eberechi Eze against Leeds, and they were proven right when he scored a superb free-kick.**

Hodgson has often preferred the more defensive Jeffrey Schlupp.  However, on Saturday he decided to go with the [summer signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eberechi-eze/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/479999) from Queens Park Rangers. It is a big day for the midfielder to prove himself on only his third start and he certainly has.

Hodgson is favouring a [4-4-2](https://www.sofascore.com/crystal-palace-chelsea/hN) currently with [Eze playing](https://www.sofascore.com/crystal-palace-chelsea/hN) as a left-midfielder when he starts, so the Englishman will have to adapt in order to be a consistent starter.

Many Palace fans are hoping manager Hodgson will allow Eze to have a little bit more attacking freedom and hopefully the 22 year-old, who picked up [14 goals and eight assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eberechi-eze/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/479999) for Queens Park Rangers last season, can start to show his attacking quality a bit more as he adapts to the Premier League.

### Here is how Palace fans reacted to the news:
