**Frank Lampard is back in the mix to take over at Crystal Palace, according to [London News Online](https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/former-chelsea-boss-frank-lampard-back-in-the-mix-for-crystal-palace-job/).**

The former England midfielder has been out of work since January following his [sacking at Chelsea](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55794158). He was a [leading contender to replace Roy Hodgson back in May](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/frank-lampard-crystal-palace-job-roy-hodgson-b934911.html) and was [reportedly](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/frank-lampard-crystal-palace-job-roy-hodgson-b934911.html) open to a Selhurst Park switch.

As we know, Palace are still on the hunt for a new manager after talks with both [Nuno Espirito Santo](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12328346/nuno-espirito-santo-crystal-palace-end-talks-with-former-wolves-boss-over-becoming-new-manager) and [Lucien Favre](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11706/12341246/lucien-favre-crystal-palace-talks-with-former-borussia-dortmund-manager-break-down) broke down in the final stages.

It now seems as if Lampard is back in contention for the vacancy, with the 2021/22 season less than seven weeks away.
