# Crystal Palace: Fans react as Odsonne Edouard is linked to the club

**A lot of Crystal Palace fans are reacting to the latest transfer news suggesting the club are going to attempt to sign Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard this summer, according to [France Football,](https://www.francefootball.fr/)via [CPFC NEWS HQ](https://twitter.com/CPFC_NEWS_HQ/status/1253376059279622145?s=20).**

The reports suggest that the Eagles have ‘clearly positioned’ themselves to sign the striker, and it could be a really good signing for the South London side. This campaign the Frenchman has made 45 appearances, scoring 27 times and providing 19 assists, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/344152/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=). In the league alone, he has 21 goals and 12 assists in 27 matches.

The goalscoring record he boasts at the club is very good, and at just the age of 22, there is a lot of room for the player to grow even more. Palace have been too reliant on forward Jordan Ayew this campaign, as his eight goals have provided 17 points for the club in the division, per [Citisports](https://citisportsonline.com/2020/03/08/jordan-ayew-won-17-points-for-crystal-palace/), and it would be good to take some of the weight up front off the Ghanaians shoulders.

This is something which Belgian Christian Benteke has failed to do since he has only managed five Premier League goals in the last three seasons, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-benteke/profil/spieler/50201).
