# Crystal Palace: Fans react as Patrick van Aanholt is linked to Arsenal

**Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to the latest transfer news which suggests that Arsenal could make a move for Patrick van Aanholt.**

According to the [Mirror](https://t.co/KDq30Tph7r?amp=1), and tweeted out by [@cpfc\_xtra,](https://twitter.com/cpfc_xtra/status/1355651087315963906?s=20) Arsenal are considering a late move for the Eagles defender. Van Aanholt does provide a lot for the South London side offensively as the left-back, having scored [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/52119/verein/873) goals and picked up [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/52119/verein/873) assists whilst at the club.

He started in the [1-0](https://www.sofascore.com/crystal-palace-wolverhampton/dsh) victory against Wolves on Saturday, but it was the first time he had started [since Boxing Day](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/van-aanholt/), with Roy Hodgson favouring emerging academy star Tyrick Mitchell over the Dutchman in recent fixtures.

The 30-year-old, who is valued at £7.20m on [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/52119/verein/873), could leave on a free transfer in the summer due to his current contract running out in June and therefore, the South London side need to make a big decision as to whether they want to keep him or if they will allow a team like Arsenal to buy him in the current transfer window.
