# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Andros Townsend rumours

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been giving their thoughts to Newcastle United’s interest in Andros Townsend.**

According to [Chronicle Live](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-transfer-list-newcastle-looking-20312604), the Magpies are looking at potential free transfers ahead of the summer window, with Townsend, West Brom’s Kyle Bartley and Sheffield United’s John Lundstram all of interest.

Townsend joined Palace from Newcastle back in 2016 for a fee in the region of [£14m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/transfers/spieler/61842), but it seems as if his former employers want him back at St James’ Park.

The 29-year-old has made [178](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/leistungsdaten/spieler/61842) appearances during his time at Selhurst Park, scoring [16](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/leistungsdaten/spieler/61842) times and registering [27](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/leistungsdaten/spieler/61842) assists.

He has been a regular under Roy Hodgson this season as well, [missing just two Premier League fixtures](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/leistungsdaten/spieler/61842) so far. However, he has [only three months remaining](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andros-townsend/profil/spieler/61842) on his [£55,000-a-week](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/crystal-palace/payroll/) deal, and it seems as if Newcastle could pounce.
