# Crystal Palace: Fans react to club’s Van Aanholt post

**A number of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to the [club’s official Twitter post](https://twitter.com/cpfc/status/1404369876886634497?s=21) to left-back Patrick van Aanholt.**

The 30-year-old has just a [number of weeks remaining on his Palace deal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/profil/spieler/52119) and was actually [included](https://www.premierleague.com/news/2163104) in the Eagles’ initial released list which came out earlier this month.

[Reports](https://theathletic.com/2592166/2021/05/17/van-aanholt-leave-crystal-palace-squad-overhaul-begins/) have suggested he won’t be offered new terms and will leave Selhurst Park when his contract expires.

Van Aanholt is currently away with the Netherlands at Euro 2020 and [started under former Palace manager Frank de Boer in a 3-2 win over Ukraine](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/match/2024441--netherlands-vs-ukraine/postmatch/report/).

He [played just over an hour](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/match/2024441--netherlands-vs-ukraine/postmatch/report/) of the Group C fixture but was branded a [‘poor defender’ by Gary Neville](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/gary-neville-delivers-scathing-verdict-arsenal-leeds-defensive-target) after getting on the wrong side of Andriy Yarmolenko in the first half.

Palace [tweeted](https://twitter.com/cpfc/status/1404369876886634497?s=21) a recap regarding their internationals on Monday morning, leading with van Aanholt’s involvement in the Netherlands’ weekend victory.
