# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Fenerbahce’s reported move for Benteke

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have flocked to Twitter to give their opinion on speculation rumouring Christian Benteke away from the club.**

The Twitter account [@CPFC\_NEWS\_HQ](https://twitter.com/CPFC_NEWS_HQ) tweeted a report from [Fanatik](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/christian-bentekeden-fenerbahceye-mesaj-2078418) suggesting that Fenerbahce will bid a total of €6m (around £5.5m) for the Crystal Palace striker who has struggled of late.

He initially made a great impression at Selhurst Park, contributing an impressive 15 goals in his first campaign ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-benteke/leistungsdaten/spieler/50201/plus/0?saison=2016)). However, since then it is has been a torrid time for the 28-year-old: he has played 47 games in the league in the past two campaigns and has only managed to grab four goals.

Having one year remaining on his contract ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-benteke/leistungsdaten/spieler/50201/plus/0?saison=2016)), this could be the last chance Palace have to make any money from the Belgian, though they do have the option to extend by a year.

The response from the Palace fans has been a mixed bag. Some are fed up of Benteke not being able to put away his chances and want to cash in while they can; others believe that compared to the other strikers within the squad – Jordan Ayew, Connor Wickham and Alexander Sorloth – he is the outstanding candidate and therefore should not be allowed to leave.
