# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Frank Lampard update

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to an update regarding former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.**

The Eagles are on the search for a new manager after it was [announced](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2021/may/roy-hodgson-to-step-down-as-crystal-palace-manager/) that Roy Hodgson will leave the club at the end of the season.

Lampard, who [left Stamford Bridge in January](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55794158), was thought to be [closing in on a Selhurst Park switch](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-crystal-palace-close-in-on-lampard-and-set-sights-on-signing-three-chelsea-stars/), however, according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-lampard-sensationally-pulls-out-of-race-to-be-crystal-palace-manager/), that has now changed.

They claim that the 42-year-old has now pulled out of the race to take over and doesn’t want to be considered for the vacant post going forward.

The [report](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-lampard-sensationally-pulls-out-of-race-to-be-crystal-palace-manager/) adds that Lampard views the position as a huge rebuilding job and fears they will get sucked into a relegation battle next season, leaving Palace surprised.
