The 20-year-old made the move to Selhurst Park from the Irish side on loan earlier this year, with the Eagles having the [option](https://www.corkcityfc.ie/home/2021/08/16/jake-obrien-joins-crystal-palace/) to make it permanent over the summer.

Palace have now exercised that clause, with the defender joining the club for an [undisclosed](https://www.corkcityfc.ie/home/2021/08/16/jake-obrien-joins-crystal-palace/) fee.

O’Brien has made a total of [12](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jake-obrien/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/711544) appearances for Palace’s Under-23 side and actually scored in the club’s first game of the new season on Monday evening.

He netted an [equaliser](https://twitter.com/CPFCAcademy/status/1427333084203134977) against Leeds United, however, Palace eventually lost [3-1](https://twitter.com/CPFCAcademy/status/1427359561539850240) at Selhurst Park.
