# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Marc Guehi move

**Crystal Palace are closing in on a move for Chelsea defender Marc Guehi, according to [David Ornstein](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1415627540408975370).**

And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles fans have been reacting to the transfer update on social media.

According to [Ornstein](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1415627540408975370), who writes for [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2708591/2021/07/15/transfer-tracker-marc-guehi-nearing-permanent-move-to-palace-from-chelsea/), Palace are close to a permanent deal for the 21-year-old.

Guehi will undergo an Eagles medical on Thursday ahead of putting pen to paper on a five-year Selhurst Park deal.

[Ornstein](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1415627540408975370) doesn’t share the final fee, however, he claims that the Blues have negotiated a sell-on clause and matching rights on any future transfer.

The [England Under-21 international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marc-guehi/leistungsdaten/spieler/392757) has spent the past season-and-a-half with Swansea City on loan in the Championship, making [59](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marc-guehi/leistungsdaten/spieler/392757) appearances in south Wales.

Palace sporting director [Dougie Freedman has been the driving force behind a deal, with a number of clubs in England and Germany keen on signing Guehi this summer](https://theathletic.com/2708591/2021/07/15/transfer-tracker-marc-guehi-nearing-permanent-move-to-palace-from-chelsea/).
