# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Nuno Espirito Santo update

**Crystal Palace are close to confirming Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager, as reported by [the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/06/08/nuno-espirito-santo-verge-named-new-crystal-palace-manager/).**

Entering a new dawn, the Eagles look set to bring their search for a new manager to an end after the emotional departure of previous boss Roy Hodgson \[[Crystal Palace FC](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2021/may/roy-hodgson-to-step-down-as-crystal-palace-manager/)\].

Ousting previous rumoured candidates such as Valerian Ismael, Steve Cooper and Frank Lampard \[[Sportsman](https://www.thesportsman.com/articles/crystal-palace-s-next-manager-frank-lampard-steve-cooper-or-valerien-ismael)\], the Portuguese leader looks set to pen a deal at Selhurst Park by the end of this week \[[The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/06/08/nuno-espirito-santo-verge-named-new-crystal-palace-manager/)\].

Still stunned by his Wolves exit, after he re-solidified their status as Premier League club whilst making strides in Europe, former Wolves man Steve Bull claimed: ‘I still think he was doing a brilliant job with what he had got and the injuries he’s had to deal with’ \[[Express and Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2021/05/30/steve-bull-im-still-baffled-by-nunos-wolves-exit/)\].

It certainly feels like something of a momentous appointment in south London.

However, Wolverhampton’s loss is the Eagles’ gain. In light of this latest development, loads of Palace diehards took to Twitter to revel in the news.
