# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Odsonne Edouard confirmation

**Crystal Palace [confirmed](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1432810694219649025) the signing of Odsonne Edouard from Celtic late on deadline day.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles supporters flocked to the announcement on social media.

Palace were after [two](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9894977/Crystal-Palace-chasing-Hughes-midfielder-turns-new-deal-Watford.html) forwards before the end of the month but had to settle for one in Edouard, who they were first linked with in [2019](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7694655/Crystal-Palace-interested-signing-Celtic-striker-Odsonne-Edouard-January-20m.html).

The 23-year-old has penned a [four-year deal](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/announcement/odsonne-edouard-signs-for-crystal-palace/2021-08-31/) at Selhurst Park, with a move to London costing the Eagles [£14m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58396397).

Edouard contributed to [125](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) goals in [179](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) appearances during his time with Celtic and will now look to add some much-needed firepower to Patrick Vieira’s squad who have scored [twice](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) in their opening three Premier League fixtures.

### Palace fans react

Palace shared the transfer news regarding Edouard becoming their [eighth](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/crystal-palace/transfers/verein/873) and final signing of the window on their [official Twitter page](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1432810694219649025).

This is what some had to say in reply, with one describing a deal as ‘class’.
