# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Pape Souaré update

**Crystal Palace have included former defender Pape Souaré in their Under-23’s pre-season preparations, as he steps up his bid for a new playing opportunity \[[Crystal Palace FC Official](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/statement/pape-souare-to-take-part-in-u23s-pre-season/2021-07-20/)\].**

Most recently, the Senegal international was on the books of French side Troyes, though is now a free agent after leaving the club \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pape-souare/transfers/spieler/125868)\].

Now searching for a new environment to ply his trade, he has come back to London in order to gain fitness ahead of a potential new move.

Though the agreement looks to be purely for training purposes, official Eagles communications have detailed that having a senior pro amongst the ranks of the development squad has had an extremely positive impact on the younger Palace roster \[[Crystal Palace FC Official](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/statement/pape-souare-to-take-part-in-u23s-pre-season/2021-07-20/)\].

In light of this, loads of Crystal Palace diehards took to Twitter to share their delight at the recent news.
