# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Patrick Vieira latest

**[BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone](https://twitter.com/sistoney67/status/1410562472180846595) provided an update on Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Patrick Vieira on Thursday.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles supporters gave their thoughts to the news on social media.

[News broke on Tuesday](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1409829873628164098) regarding Vieira and Palace, with the two parties reaching an agreement in principle over the vacant managerial role.

Three days on and a move is yet to be announced, however, [Stone](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/57673560?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=60dda45d6f777a32b63bd4ac%26No%20issues%20with%20Vieira%20to%20Palace%262021-07-01T11%3A25%3A04.638Z&ns_fee=0&pinned_post_locator=urn:asset:df01074f-0fcb-4b7b-b3db-2ec9ea6682b9&pinned_post_asset_id=60dda45d6f777a32b63bd4ac&pinned_post_type=share) admitted that there are no major issues and the Frenchman will be installed as Roy Hodgson’s replacement.

Vieira has been [out of work since December](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-vieira/profil/trainer/20029) after his [sacking at Ligue 1 club Nice](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55187481) but now looks set to return to the dugout with the Eagles.

Recent [reports](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9736827/Patrick-Vieira-verge-Crystal-Palace-manager.html) elsewhere have suggested that Vieira could be handed an £80m transfer kitty this summer at Selhurst Park, with 11 senior players now out of contract at Selhurst Park.
