# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Patrick Vieira news

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to an update regarding Patrick Vieira on social media.**

Palace are on the hunt for a new manager following [Roy Hodgson’s Selhurst Park exit at the end of the 2020/21 campaign](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11706/12309876/roy-hodgson-crystal-palace-manager-to-leave-the-premier-league-club-at-the-end-of-the-season).

Former Arsenal midfielder Vieira was [reportedly](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/14698288/vieira-arsenal-crystal-palace-hodgson/) placed on the Eagles’ shortlist as a possible replacement for Hodgson back in April.

However, it appears as if Palace could miss out on the 44-year-old, who was [sacked by Nice in December](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55187481).

Vieira’s agent told [Il Secolo XIX](https://www.ilsecoloxix.it/sport/2021/06/07/news/ferrero-settimana-decisiva-per-l-uomo-solo-al-comando-1.40361793) that the Frenchman is in contention to take over at Serie A side Sampdoria, with a meeting in place.

Nuno Espirito Santo now appears to be Palace’s man, though, with the former Wolves man in [advanced talks](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/status/1402207323649720320) with the Eagles, who appear to have made him their [number one target](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/status/1402207323649720320).

[Some reports](https://twitter.com/samimokbel81_dm/status/1402535936756535298?s=12) have however claimed that swoop could be off too.
