# Crystal Palace: Fans react to specific Nuno Espirito Santo details

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to the finer details regarding the breakdown in talks with Nuno Espirito Santo.**

Palace appeared to be [closing in on the former Wolves boss to become Roy Hodgson’s successor on Tuesday evening](https://twitter.com/AnthonyRJoseph/status/1402310236430610435).

However, on Wednesday morning, reliable [Daily Mail reporter Sami Mokbel](https://twitter.com/SamiMokbel81_DM/status/1402535936756535298) revealed the Eagles’ hierarchy have walked away from a deal for the 47-year-old.

Mokbel’s piece on the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9667531/Crystal-Palace-END-talks-Nuno-Espirito-Santo-new-manager.html) website reveals that Nuno made a series of demands to Palace, but they have decided not to follow through with a move.

Wolves finished just [one point and one place above Palace in the Premier League last season](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) and [Mokbel](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9667531/Crystal-Palace-END-talks-Nuno-Espirito-Santo-new-manager.html) claimed that is the key factor why the club refused to meet a set of stringent stipulations made by Nuno late on Tuesday night.

The Portuguese coach, who favours a [3-4-3 system](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nuno-espirito-santo/profil/trainer/16520), spent [four years at Molineux, averaging 1.68 points per game in his 199 games in charge](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nuno-espirito-santo/profil/trainer/16520).

He also led Wolves to a [Europa League quarter-final in 2019/20](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/history/clubs/53357--wolves/?referrer=%2Fuefaeuropaleague%2Fseason%3D2020%2Fclubs%2Fclub%3D53357%2Findex) and an [FA Cup semi-final the season before](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47763394).

However, despite his success in the Midlands, Palace clearly now feel Nuno isn’t suited for the position, with [Sean Dyche and Steve Cooper name-checked as alternative bosses the Eagles are keen on](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9667531/Crystal-Palace-END-talks-Nuno-Espirito-Santo-new-manager.html).
