# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Steve Cooper update

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been giving their reaction to an update on Swansea City manager Steve Cooper.**

[Reports](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/steve-cooper-now-overwhelming-favourite-20790376) recently tipped Cooper as the favourite for the Selhurst Park vacancy after [Palace’s talks with Nuno Espirito Santo broke down](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12328346/nuno-espirito-santo-crystal-palace-end-talks-with-former-wolves-boss-over-becoming-new-manager).

However, according to [journalist Alan Nixon](https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1404115462229827585), cited by [Football League World](https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/update-emerges-concerning-crystal-palace-and-swansea-city-boss/), Cooper is not nailed on to replace Roy Hodgson in Croydon.

Cooper would cost Palace around [£4.5m in compensation](https://the72.co.uk/237470/steve-coopers-staggering-swansea-city-compensation-revealed-amid-crystal-palace-links/), should they move for the 41-year-old, but it appears as if they haven’t firmed up their [interest](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/next-crystal-palace-manager-steve-cooper-sean-dyche-nuno-espirito-santo-b939587.html) as of yet.

The Welshman, who led [England to Under-17 World Cup glory in 2017](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steve-cooper/erfolge/trainer/37574), has been in charge of Swansea City since [July 2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steve-cooper/profil/trainer/37574).

Cooper has taken charge of [105](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steve-cooper/profil/trainer/37574) games in Wales, averaging [1.61 points per game](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/steve-cooper/profil/trainer/37574) and guided Swansea to the Championship playoff final last month.
