# Crystal Palace: Fans react to Victor Akinwale deal

**Crystal Palace [announced](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1428036813898256387) on Wednesday that young striker Victor Akinwale has signed his first professional contract with the club.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Eagles supporters have been giving their thoughts to the news on social media.

Akinwale, who recently turned 17, has been with the club since the age of [12](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/under-18s/victor-akinwale-signs-professional-deal/2021-08-18/).

The centre-forward has made [30](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-akinwale/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/814858) appearances for the club’s youth sides since the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign, scoring [10](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-akinwale/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/814858) times and registering [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-akinwale/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/814858) assists.

He has now followed in the footsteps of youngsters such as [David Omilabu](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/academy/david-omilabu-signs-professional-contract-with-crystal-palace/2021-03-13/) and [Jesurun Rak-Sakyi](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/academy/jesurun-rak-sakyi-signs-professional-deal/2021-04-12/) in penning a first Selhurst Park deal.

Palace are looking to add [two](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9894977/Crystal-Palace-chasing-Hughes-midfielder-turns-new-deal-Watford.html) forwards to Patrick Vieira’s first-team squad before the end of the window, but it looks like they have now tied down a potential future first-team striker in Akinwale.
