# Crystal Palace: Fans show love for Gary Cahill after pre-match tweet

**Many Crystal Palace fans have shared their love for defender Gary Cahill as he sent out a tweet before Saturday’s match versus Man City.**

The former England captain tweeted about his excitement to get back to football, by saying “@premierleague is back tomorrow! Who else is excited?”.

Gary Cahill has gotten off to a fantastic start at Selhurst Park after joining on a free from Chelsea. The 33-year-old has been a vital part of Crystal Palace’s great start to the Premier League and even[won the club’s Player of the Month](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/crystal-palace/crystal-palace-fans-show-love-for-gary-cahill-as-he-swoops-up-club-award/) award for September.

So far Cahill has played six out of Palace’s eight league games this season.
