# Crystal Palace: Fans slam Patrick van Aanholt

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans hit out at left-back Patrick van Aanholt on social media for his performance against Chelsea on Saturday evening.**

The Eagles fell to a [4-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56622156) defeat at home to Thomas Tuchel’s side, with Roy Hodgson’s men three goals down at the interval.

Van Aanholt made his [19th](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/leistungsdaten/spieler/52119) Premier League start of the season, but his performance didn’t sit well with some supporters online.

He has been [offered a three-year deal by Turkish giants Galatasaray](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11706/12270671/transfer-news-crystal-palaces-patrick-van-aanholt-offered-three-year-deal-by-galatasaray), who seem keen on securing his services on a free transfer ahead of the 2021/22 season – and it seems as if some fans would be happy for him to move on over the coming months based on his performance on Saturday.
