# Crystal Palace: Fans slam Van Aanholt’s first-half display

**Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to Patrick **van Aanholt’**s first-half display against West Brom on social media.**

The 30-year-old was handed his [17th](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-van-aanholt/leistungsdaten/spieler/52119) league start of the campaign, with Wilfried Zaha replacing Andros Townsend in [Roy Hodgson’s only change from the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2021/march/team-news-crystal-palace-v-west-bromwich-albion---zaha-starts/) last time out.

Palace went into the game in [13th](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) place, knowing a win would leapfrog them into 11th position ahead of Leeds United following their [lunchtime stalemate](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56247499) with Chelsea.
