# Crystal Palace: Fans split over Wout Weghorst transfer rumour

**Many Crystal Palace fans have given their responses to the latest rumours linking them with Wolfsburg forward Wout Weghorst.**

According to reports from [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/crystal-palace-osserva-un-attaccante-olandese-95223), the Eagles are taking a closer look at the forward as they look to bolster their attacking options going into the second half of the season.

Since joining the German outfit, the 27-year-old has been in red-hot form, scoring [22 goals in 44](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wout-weghorst/leistungsdaten/spieler/228645/plus/0?saison=ges) Bundesliga appearances, with [8](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wout-weghorst/leistungsdaten/spieler/228645/plus/0?saison=2019) in all competitions so far this campaign.

Palace currently have a pretty limited pool of players to choose from; Christian Benteke, Jordan Ayew and Connor Wickham are the only established strikers at the club, and none of them have scored more than five Premier League goals in a season since the [16/17 campaign](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-benteke/leistungsdaten/spieler/50201/plus/0?saison=2016).

Despite the lack of goals at Palace and Weghorst’s impressive record in recent years, there was a pretty mixed response from fans. One fan suggested that he could be a similar purchase to Alexander Sorloth, while others suggested he looks a good buy.

Here are some of the responses below…

> So we'll scout him for about 3 years, then he'll go to West Ham lol

> Good scoring record. As long as we can get it into the six yard box for him.
