# Crystal Palace: Fans would rather have Michy Batshuayi over Olivier Giroud after links to Frenchman

**Many Crystal Palace fans do not appear to be particularly excited at the idea of signing Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.**

According to [the Sun,](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10180448/olivier-giroud-transfer-crystal-palace/) Palace are ‘weighing up’ an ‘ambitious swoop’ for Giroud after the Frenchman has had a lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.

The attacker has featured[just three times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/profil/spieler/82442) in the Premier League this season and will want to be playing first-team football if he is to continue playing for Didier Deschamps’ France.

Despite the World Cup winner being France’s [third-highest](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frankreich/toptorschuetzen/verein/3377) all-time goalscorer, many Palace fans do not appear to want the 33-year-old and would prefer his Chelsea counterpart Michy Batshuayi, 26.

Giroud has immense Premier League experience. The player has [223](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/leistungsdaten/spieler/82442/plus/0?saison=ges) Premier League caps under his belt with [78](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/leistungsdaten/spieler/82442/plus/0?saison=ges) goals scored and [32](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-giroud/leistungsdaten/spieler/82442/plus/0?saison=ges) assists created (Transfermarkt); Batshuayi, on the other hand, has played just [48](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdaten/spieler/179184/plus/0?saison=ges) games and scored [13](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdaten/spieler/179184/plus/0?saison=ges) goals.

As you can see from the responses below, many Palace fans would rather either have Batshuayi – who did have a successful loan spell at the club last campaign – or just someone else altogether.

Here are some of the replies.
