Crystal Palace: Fans react as the Eagles lose 4-0 to Liverpool - Crystal Palace News

Crystal Palace played against Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday and it couldn’t have been much worse as the Eagles were thrashed 4-0. After the club tweeted out the result at the final whistle, many fans had a lot to say about the game.

After a great result against Bournemouth at the weekend, some Palace fans might have thought the battle against the league leaders last night would have been a close contest, but Trent Alexander-Arnold scoring a free-kick early on and star player Wilfried Zaha limping off the pitch ruined any hope of an upset, via The Telegraph.

With the congested fixture list since football’s return after recent events, the Eagles are playing three games in nine games, and with a more likely victory coming against Burnley on Monday, Roy Hodgson made some changes, whilst others had to be made due to slight injuries. One was Wayne Hennessey being in goal for Vicente Guaita and it was heavily debated as to whether the Welshman should have saved some of the goals.

The result definitely would have frustrated many Palace fans but others accepted the result and wanted the side to focus on the next game against Sean Dyche’s side.

It was a great result for the Reds and emphasised why they are currently 23 points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league.

Here if what fans said following the result:

That was shambolic but lets remember they scored 2 worldies, we missed 3 of our most important players, we played the best team in England, and we’re still top half of the table. Memes are funny but don’t be toxic fans we can bounce back against Burnley. Hennessey must retire tho
