Former professional footballer Michael Ball believes that Crystal Palace are offering Manchester City youngster Morgan Rogers a huge opportunity should he make the move to Selhurst Park.

According to the Daily Mail earlier this month, Crystal Palace were in talks with Manchester City over Rogers, with City wanting around £7m for the youngster.

Rogers spent the second half of last season on loan at League One side, Lincoln City, where he made 28 appearances (including three play-off matches) and scored six goals and provided four more.

After a successful loan spell at Sincil Bank, which has caught the eye of Crystal Palace, Michael Ball told Transfer Tavern: “That’s a huge opportunity to have at 19-years-old, you could stay at Manchester City for two or three years and still not get game time.

“You don’t want to be 21/22 with only one or two senior appearances. You know your career is short and if you get an opportunity to play senior football like any youngster, Morgan included, take that opportunity and go and prove to the world that you can be a Premier League footballer.”

From his recruitment so far this summer, it appears new Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira wants to bring in young players to the football club and at 19 years of age, Morgan Rogers would fit that ethos also.

Palace have completed four signings so far this summer - Marc Guehi (21), Michael Olise (19), Jacob Montes (22) and Joachim Andersen (25).
