Crystal Palace teenager Junior Dixon is reportedly catching the eye of Borussia Dortmund.

The Lowdown: Dixon’s form

Dixon joined Palace as a 13-year-old and has gone from strength to strength in the Eagles academy. Now 17, Dixon has been a regular for the U18s this season and has been in excellent form in the U18 Premier League.

The centre-forward, who is equally adept with both feet, has scored seven times in five games while also registering two assists, and it looks as if his displays are catching the eye across in Germany.

The Latest: Dortmund interest

Sports Witness relayed an update from Bild on Wednesday regarding Dixon and Dortmund.

They claim that the German giants have been considering signing the talented youngster ‘for a long time’, adding that things could ‘get really hot’ next summer.

The Verdict: A worry

Dixon appears to be a future star, so it would be a blow if Palace were to lose him at this stage of his career, as he appears to be on the verge of breaking into the U21s, where he could then eye a first-team call up.

The youngster only needs to look at the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham to see that there is a clear pathway to first-team football with Dortmund however, something he could be tempted by.

Palace are also willing to offer exciting youngsters first-team football, with Tyrick Mitchell a prime recent example, so hopefully, the forward decides to remain in London instead of moving to Germany.
