Crystal Palace: Darren Bent believes club will struggle to hold onto Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace: Darren Bent believes club will struggle to hold onto Eberechi Eze - Crystal Palace News

Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have fallen in love with Eberechi Eze since he joined the club in the summer, but Darren Bent doesn’t think he will be at the club for a long time.

What Bent had to say about Eze

Bent was praising the player on talkSPORT, saying: “He’s (Eze) got some quality. He’s going to go right to the very, very top. If he continues on the path that he is on, I don’t think he will be there for that long”

Palace have a star in their ranks

Everyone knows the quality of talisman Wilfried Zaha at the South London side, but Eze is showing the potential that he too can be a great Premier League playmaker for years to come.

The 22-year-old looks to be a great signing for the South London side. His stats for this season show how much of an attacking threat he is as he has, on average, managed one shot, 1.2 key passes, and two successful dribbles per game (WhoScored). He also has three assists alongside his three goals.

Jamie Redknapp also recently praised Eze as he said: ‘Eze has been so influential though I actually want to see more of him. (He’s) very impressive, he’s a star man. When he’s on the ball, he’s so exciting to watch.’

One of Eze’s three goals was crucial as it was the only goal in the victory against Wolves, whilst the other two goals Eze scored were superb.

One was a free-kick and another was a fabulous solo run. These performances emphasise that he is taking major strides to becoming a great player.

If Eze continues shining like he has done recently, the club have a potential star within their ranks and it is understandable to see why Bent believes he won’t be at Crystal Palace for long.
