Crystal Palace are still interested in a late move for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Eagles were first linked with a move for Wan-Bissaka back in April, with speculation continuing throughout the summer.

Reports in recent weeks suggested that Palace held talks with United and even had an approach rejected. The 24-year-old, who Joel Ward hailed as "phenomenal", appears to be way down the pecking order at Old Trafford, playing just four minutes so far this season.

The Latest: Sheth’s claim

Talking to GiveMeSport in a story shared late on Wednesday night, Sheth said that Palace ‘still seem to be interested’ in their former right-back but believes a move may be ‘a stretch’.

The Sky Sports reporter stated:

“I think it was kind of a non-starter. Look, they still seem to be interested because they are in the market for a right-back, but the Wan-Bissaka one might just be a stretch now.”

The Verdict: You never know

It looks as if a late move for Wan-Bissaka may only be possible if Manchester United bring in a right-back of their own in the final hours of the transfer window.

As Sheth mentions, that seems unlikely at this stage, but anything can happen on deadline day, so Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman should stay alert to any possible changes.

Patrick Vieira’s two right-back options, Ward and Nathaniel Clyne, are both into the final years of their Selhurst Park deals, so landing Wan-Bissaka could be a wise move.
