Crystal Palace confirmed on Friday evening that Nathaniel Clyne has re-joined the club after penning a one-year deal at Selhurst Park.

As to be expected, a number of Eagles supporters were quick to share their thoughts at the news via social media.

Clyne was one of 11 senior Palace players who became a free agent on July 1 but now joins fellow right-back Joel Ward in extending his stay in south London.

The 30-year-old has made a total of 151 Palace appearances across his two stints at the club, 14 of which came last season under Roy Hodgson.

Clyne, who was actually spotted training with the club at St George’s Park back in July, will give Patrick Vieira a third right-back option ahead of the new campaign alongside Ward and Martin Kelly.

Palace fans react

Palace shared the news about Clyne on their official Twitter page, and here is what these Eagles fans had to say in reply, with many delighted by the update and one labelling the deal as 'excellent news'.
