Plenty of Crystal Palace fans shared their concern on social media at Roy Hodgson’s comments regarding the first-team squad.

Palace failed to make it back-to-back away wins in the space of four days after falling to a 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Tuesday evening.

Christian Benteke put the Eagles in front early on, as he did against Sheffield United on the weekend, however, two goals from Danny Ings and one from Che Adams, along with a Luka Milivojevic missed penalty, ensured Hodgson’s side left St Mary’s with nothing.

Palace have plenty of players out of contract in the summer, and Hodgson admitted there will be changes in his press conference prior to the defeat on the south coast.

As reported by Football London, picked up by @CPFCtransfersHQ, Hodgson said:

“We're likely to lose some players this summer who've been here an awfully long time. The team is good, a very solid base. It would be a question of what can be done to improve the team - we're not in any way near a collapse or something that drastic.”

Palace fans react

@CPFCtransfersHQ shared those comments on Twitter on Monday afternoon. These Palace supporters weren’t exactly thrilled with what the 73-year-old had to say.

Some didn’t like the use of ‘we’re’, whereas one admitted the words are ‘very worrying’.
