Many Crystal Palace fans are over the moon to hear the latest reports around the future of emerging academy star Tyrick Mitchell.
According to the Mirror and tweeted out by @cpfc_xtra, Tyrick Mitchell has agreed a new deal with Crystal Palace that will keep him at the club until 2025. Mitchell had been starting to become a fan favourite for his defensive work with the South London side. The 21-year old has featured 12 times in the Premier League and has managed, on average, 2.6 clearances and 3.6 and 1.1 interceptions a game this term (WhoScored).
Palace Journalist Matt Woosnam wrote an article on the player recently, calling him CPFC’s ‘silent assassin’ with the ‘eye of the tiger’ and clearly the club should be looking to keep hold of such a highly-rated player. Meanwhile, one fan called him a ‘top player’, whilst another said the news was ‘fantastic’.
The left-back is from the academy and such a player excelling always goes down well with a fan base, so it is understandable to see why they are all so delighted with the news.
Here is how Palace fans reacted to the update:
“Brilliant, means we can demand a higher transfer fee now when we sell him next summer”
“Excellent news. Top player.”
“Finally good news”
“That’s great news.”
