Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to the club’s reported interest in Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael on social media.

According to The Telegraph, cited by the Daily Mail, Ismael has been added to Palace’s managerial shortlist to potentially replace Roy Hodgson.

Swansea City's Steve Cooper, Burnley’s Sean Dyche and former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard are also thought to be on the club’s list, along with Roma manager Paulo Fonseca.

Of course, these alternatives come after days of intense links with Eddie Howe, who is also linked with Celtic.

Ismael appears to be the latest man on the club’s radar, though, with the former Palace centre-back making his mark in the Championship with Barnsley this season.

The 45-year-old, who made 13 appearances for the Eagles as a player, has averaged 1.97 points per game at Oakwell, leading the club into the playoff places with five games remaining.

"Eddie Howe must be taking the Celtic job now that he’s not on palaces list anymore?"

"Quite like the idea, but we will need a team of young 20 somethings, to run and press as he advocates."

"My number one target. If he can get that sort of production out of Dike he can get it out of Benteke/ Mateta."
