Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have been reacting to training footage of striker Jean-Philippe Mateta on social media.

The 23-year-old, who arrived on an 18-month loan deal from Mainz during the January window, has scored one goal for the club in four appearances.

He’s one of many Palace first-team players who will remain in London during the international break, and he’s been put through his paces on the training ground in front of goal.

The club shared a 41-second clip on their official Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon of Mateta going through a shooting drill. Jack Butland was between the sticks, with Mateta taking a few touches with his back to goal before unleashing a shot into the far corner.

It took five attempts for the Frenchman to find the back of the net after hitting the post on multiple occasions.
