Crystal Palace have made contact with Antalyaspor over a potential move for forward Haji Wright.

The Lowdown: Wright profiled

Wright is primarily a centre-forward but can also play on either wing when required. The 24-year-old appears to be at the top of his game with a career-high €3.4m (£3m) Transfermarkt valuation, scoring 24 times in 47 appearances for his current employers.

The USA international also scored against the Netherlands at the World Cup, and it seems as if Palace are keen on a possible deal.

The Latest: Palace interested in Wright

According to one Turkish outlet, interest in Wright is increasing, with Palace stepping in for the forward.

The report claims that the Eagles have made contact and seem to be the ‘strongest candidate’ for a potential transfer.

The Verdict: Shrewd move?

Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman could lose star forward Wilfried Zaha for nothing in 2023, with his Selhurst Park contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Therefore, attacking reinforcements in the winter could be required, and someone like Wright could fit the bill for Patrick Vieira.

He has a proven goalscoring record in Turkey and recently netted on the biggest stage in Qatar, so Palace could be landing themselves an exciting forward and may then even consider cashing in on Zaha over the coming weeks – only time will tell.
